Dr Thomason is a Doctor of Veterinary Naturopathy, a Natural Pet Health and Nutrition Consultant, Freelance Writer, and a Natural Rearing Breeder and exhibitor of Boston Terriers. Dr.Jeannie is also the founder of the Natural Rearing Breeders Association

"I believe that the health and overall potential of dogs, like humans and other living organisms, rests on the cornerstones of nutrition, emotional wellbeing, a clean, toxin free living environment and holistic/natural modalities as needed. Once these four are aligned we have not only a vibrant, fully realized animal, but a beginning - a framework for developing more of their abilities while at the same time we give back to them in terms of length and quality of life. The companionship of dogs, their intelligence, loyalty, service to humanity in so many capacities.

Jeannie has been breeding Boston Terriers since 1985 and has produced healthy, sound dogs that have grown into conformation champions, Agility titled dogs, Obedience titled, Rally titled and even certified animal assisted therapy dogs.

My Boston Terriers are my - teachers, soulmates, bringers of daily joy, and dearest of companions. It is my hope that when you adopt one of our Boston Terriers that you will realize the same joy and companionship from them that we have.

I am a breeder of Boston Terriers who believes in and practices Natural Rearing. This means I feed a species appropriate diet, do not use toxic harmful chemicals in, on, or around my Bostons, including pesticides or vaccinations and I use holisitc veterinary care when needed.

I believe that that breeding dogs is not a right, but a privilege and as such there are responsibilities incumbent upon anyone who undertakes to do so. These responsibilities include the stewardship of the breed. What benefits the over all health and welfare of the dogs must take precedence over what benefits the people.

As a responsible breeder, it my duty to research pedigrees and verify the outstanding qualites and dreaded faults of particular lines. Breeding for one distinct trait or breeding simply to make money are both reprehensible practices. Breeding must entail the complete package, from nose to tail. Health, balance and symmetry enhance the quality of any dog.

My foundation stock was chosen for health, long life, beauty and temperament. Our Boston's have highly researched blood- lines and are tested to exclude subluxated patella's, juvenile cataracts, heart problems and Deafness.

In my Bostons, I focus first on health, then character, style, type and form. I CERF test my dogs anually and all adults have been BAER tested with Cardiac and Patella's OFA normal before they are bred.

JeanE's Bostons aims particularly for healthy, well-mannered, socialized family members, since that is what our Boston Terriers are to us. Our puppies are HOME raised with lots of love, attention, early socialization and exercise/play time in the fresh country air.

For us, Natural Rearing is a commitment to a WAY of life,there is NO in-between. For us there is no turning back, no regrets with this path; only the rewards of healthier longer lived dogs.

We prefer to find homes for our puppies that will provide the same natural care for them that we do.

As a doctor of veterinary naturopathy and an Educator, Jeannie devotes much her efforts to assisting pet owners with their nutritional questions and feeding programs. Dr. Jeannie has been involved in nutritional self studies, feed trials. She writes articles on Pet Health and hopes to have her first book published soon.
